Foundation and Family Day Fixture Announced
Bath City FC Foundation are inviting families along to Twerton Park for this season's Family and Foundation day on Saturday 11th November.
The Foundation have a highly skilled team of 9 coaches, who offer a range of quality programmes tailored to people of all backgrounds in their target communities of Twerton, Whiteway and Southdown as well as the wider BaNES area. The power of Bath City FC as a community club and football in general enables them to engage with a wide cross section of people and make a positive impact on thousands of people's physical and mental well-being each year. This includes 28 weekly sports sessions catering for children, teenagers, men, women and the over-60’s. The Foundation also runs sessions for people supported by other local charities such as Bath Mind, Julian House and SWALLOW.
On the day there will be face painting, an ice cream van, a fun shot speed game run by Foundation coaches, cross bar challenge and demonstrations on the pitch of some of the activities the charity runs like walking football. At half-time, participants from the Foundation’s SWALLOW charity football group will have a five-a-side game on the pitch and their Reconnecting Twerton group will be attending the game today, many for the first time.
Thanks to support from the Roper Family Trust tickets have been handed out to local schools in Twerton and we are encouraging fans to "pack the Family Stand" and cheer on the Romans as they play National League South newcomers Aveley FC. The Foundation hope this will enable their charity to introduce more people to the outstanding programme of opportunities they offer across Bath, not only through football and sport but also through wellbeing groups like Reconnecting Twerton.
On the day the Foundation will be launching a fundraising appeal to help cover the costs of refurbishing their new offices underneath the Family Stand. With a little help from supporters on the day they hope to reach their target of £6,000 and move in for 2024.
